Gladstone Showgrounds

Saturday October 17th

Well the Monster Machinery Wars and Off Road Spectacular came, saw and conquered for yet another sell out crowd at the Gladstone Showgrounds last Saturday evening October 17.

The show that had just about everything from off road stadium racing, a Crasharama Demolition Derby, Monster trucks, FMX All Stars, Crazy Crane Drop, Stunt acts, a Massive KC's Fireworks Display Fireworks Skyshow and an absolutely ZANY Machinery Wars.  Then at the end of the night saw monster trucks up against Bulldozers, Excavators even Backhoes smashing everything in sight and blasting through giant firewalls that was something similar to a scene from War of the Worlds.

Yet another of Clive Featherby's innovative ideas that just keeps selling out venues this one was a mega monster hit the crowd simply just loved it.

In the monster trucks the night was all Danny Patard the fiery Kiwi taking out the Skywheelies from Thunda and Troy Garcia in the Pretty pink Lil Miss Thunda.  Then in a two way racing one off it was Patard in Tassie Devil over Lil Mis Thunda again.

In Freestyle it was without a doubt Tassie Devil's night with Danny hitting the jumps bigger than ever before in his career one jump over the elevated car stack being just as high as any monster jam jumps, both Thunda and Troy in LiL Miss Thunda put on great Freestyles but just weren't in the same league as the Kiwi on the night.

Since joining the Monster Truck Promotions team Troy's Freestyle runs are really strong which the crowds are loving.

Troy has also purchased the FMX ramp from Clive and is now open for bookings for FMX if anyone is looking for that style of entertainment for their show.

All in all a huge crowd a great night great variety all wound up by just after 8pm.

Let's hope we can make it back this way in the near future but for now its Toowoomba bound on November 7.

See ya there.

Contact the Charlton Speedway for tickets in advance so you don't miss out it is going to be huge.

MONSTERS STRIKE GOLD

Written by MTPA ADMIN on . Posted in News

The came they saw they conquered.

That was the story  at the Gold coast convention centre last night Saturday September 5 when the Child Vision Monster family Spectacular exploded into the tight little arena.

Outback Thunda Spot, Tassie devil the indoor debut of Lil Miss Thunda and son of Thunda all created carnage on the concrete surface in front of a great crowd.

After all the formalities of the opening parade it  was time for the Monster to do what the crowd wanted to see and skywheelie competition was the opener along with the legend Outback Thunda being the first truck out,Thunda had the joy of the new cars and in the end despite a close contest from all the trucks  thunda was the over crowd favourite and victor.

It was then time for Showtime FMX and what a show Gary Reids boys put on right from the onset the crowd were on their feet in a frenzy yelling for more.

Then the pace just continued to heat up in racing Troy Garcia  driving Spot continued his winning ways taking the victory over Danny Patard in Tassie Devil who in turn managed narrow wins against Thunda.

Intermission came following a great display from the Toowoomba based Globe of death team then straight after interval just as you thought the action couldn’t get any more extreme  the showtime FMX all stars let loose with backflip after backflips

It was now time for the business end of the night for the Monster Freestyle.

Troy Garcia and spot put in a solid performance then Danny petard in Tassie Devil thrilled the crowd with a blockbuster freestyle but then the best was about to come out came Dave George in lil miss thunda hitting the cars with good rhythm then just as he came to a end out came Pat Featherby in Son of Thunda followed closely by the big Beast outback Thunda and driver Clive Featherby.

Clive makes no secret that he loves driving indoors he came out full throttle and literally went Wild then suddenly shot under the grand stand canopy to literally vanish in the pit area the crowd were standing cheering then suddenly a burst of Pyro flames and from the two sides of the enclosure burst both the Thundas together performing a medley of side by side jumps ending up on the two car piles together as then the entire cast of bikes and performers  appeared back on the centre arena to thank the appreciative crowd.

All in all a great family night out all in the aid of a very great cause.

Lets not forget about what this night is all about raising awareness for the kids charity Child Vision.

A massive thanks to Child Vision boss Grant Hudson who worked tirelessly to bring this wonderful event back to a brilliant facility.
