What do you enjoy doing while on the road with Monster Truck Promotions Australia? 
I enjoy relaxing with the team when we have finished work for the day. Whether it is at the local for a drink and dinner, or back at the accommodation watching TV. Sometimes you need a break though. When we are on the road we are together 24/7 and sometimes you just need to get away.

What is your greatest memory as a monster truck driver? 
My first indoor event at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.

Do you have any pre-show rituals that you run though? 
No I am usually too busy checking to make sure everything is ready for the show so we have no breakdowns during the show.

If you were not driving Monster Trucks, what career path would you follow? 
I own and operate my own business, Lunatech, where I rebuild transmissions and engines predominantly for off road racing vehicles.

What’s your favorite movie?
Apocalypse Now

What’s your favorite television show?
Falling Skies

What’s your favorite color?
Black

Waikaraka Park Auckland.

Anything that gets the crowd going.

What do you do with your free time? What free time. There aren’t enough days in the week for that.

 

What is your greatest memory as a monster truck driver? Don’t really have a greatest memory.

 

Do you have any pre-show rituals that you run though? Not really. Just checking all trucks are ready to run.

 

If you were not driving Monster Trucks, what career path would you follow? Probably go back to welding. I really enjoy building things.

How did you get started competing in Monster Trucks?  Long story, but basically emailed CLive Featherby thanking him for bringing his show to Tamworth. I have been very Good friends since 2006 with Clive. Helping out at shows when ever I can.

 

What do you enjoy doing while on the road with Monster Truck Promotions Australia? Meeting new friends, the laughs when we (The Crew) get together.

 

What do you do with your free time? I don't really have that much free time, but I do enjoy wood turning.

 

What is your greatest memory as a monster truck driver? Getting behind the wheel of Aussie Predator for the first time and driving in the grand parade at Dubbo, which would have been around 2006-07.

 

Do you have any pre-show rituals that you run though? No rituals, I am usually busy getting last minute things done before show time.

 

If you were not driving Monster Trucks, what career path would you follow? Maybe web design or graphic arts.

 

What’s your favourite food? Anyone who knows me knows I like most foods, but I would say Rum and Raisin ice cream would have to be one of my favourites. Absolutely Hate Cucumber, can tell if they put it on my sandwich and take it off again.

 

What’s your favourite movie? I don't think I really have a favourite. I like movies like SAW and The Hostel. It really depends on what mood I am in.

 

What’s your favourite television show? Pawn Stars, Mythbusters, that type of thing

 

What’s your favorite color? Purple or lime green, if I had to choose one , probably purple.

How did you get started competing in Monster Trucks?  When I was 14 i was at a show in Toowoomba a few hours before the show, Dad got me up in the truck and showed me how to start it and told me to aim for the bonnets not the boots, ever since then I have been destroying Billy and Dad at freestyle and racing.

 

What do you enjoy doing while on the road with Monster Truck Promotions Australia? 

 

What do you do with your free time? In my free time you will find me on the beach either catching waves, going for a dip or just soaking up the sun.

Clive Featherby

Clive Featherby started a career of promoting Motorcycle Speedway Events at Redcliffe Showgrounds way back on January 31st 1986.  29 long years ago, the event was an England V Australia Motorcycle Test Match and it was a complete sell out.

Since that iconic day Clive one of Australia’s longest serving Motorsports Promoters has promoted over 800 major events World Wide to over 5,000,000 spectators.

Clive has promoted Speedway events, Stadium Moto X, Rock Concerts, Fireworks Spectaculars, Family Shows, Carnivals, Festivals, Waterscreen and Laser Extravaganzas, Off Road Events, Mud Racing, Rodeo’s, Bullrides and for the past 15 years been a major force in the World of Monster Truck entertainment.

During Clive’s time as a promoter he also built up a hugely successful Fireworks Display Company that to this day

conducts over 200 Fireworks Displays Annually World wide.

Clive invented the World’s first ever water proof fireworks fuse namely Sticky Match now used throughout the World.

Clive also built and operated the World’s first ever fully portable animated Waterscreen Show and was the first to ever operate waterscreens in the Southern Hemisphere.

Clive was also the first person to ever manufacture fireworks in QLD and export to other countries including the USA.

On the Monster Truck Scene Clive built up a massive Australian Monster Truck empire that at one stage consisted of 12 of the latest monster trucks, Jet vehicles, stunt shows, FMX teams even a full blown Jet Plane.  Apart from promoting the shows Clive designed the current Outback Thunda Monster Truck that is the Southern hemisphere’s BEST known truck.

Australia’s Legend Outback Thunda Monster Truck and Clive have successfully toured Thunda throughout USA, Canada, New Zealand, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore and every State and Territory in Australia.

Clive still successfully operates Monster Truck Promotions Australia as well as KC’s Fireworks Displays Aust Pty Ltd. 

MTPA annually conducts approximately 40 major shows World wide and has 5 trucks and endless associated equipment in Australia.

Driving in the USA up against the likes of Ramunator and Bigfoot.

Do you have any pre-show rituals that you run though? 
Double and triple check everything to prevent anything going wrong. 
When driving I like to hide behind the truck and stretch, cause I know i will be sore the next day.

If you were not driving Monster Trucks, what career path would you follow? 
I own and operate KC’s Fireworks Displays. So I would put extra time into the company.

Heart and Souls and Love Actually.

My Kitchen Rules

Pink

All indoor venues. Mt Isa Rodeo Arena.

Favorite Freestyle Trick?
I don’t really have a favorite trick. I like to entertain the crowd, so huge jumps, close saves, Sky Wheelies.
I like to get through free style with out breaking the truck.
